Jared Leone, candidate for Clearwater City Council, Seat 4, secured the endorsement this week from Florida’s chapter of the National Organization for Women, a preeminent organization advocating for equality, economic fairness and freedom from gender-based violence.
“Florida NOW understands that local government matters in people’s everyday lives, from safe neighborhoods to opportunity, fairness and quality of life,” Leone said. “I am humbled by this endorsement and ready to bring that same people-first focus to the Clearwater City Council.”
Florida NOW’s endorsement reflects a values-based decision rooted in Leone’s record of public service, community leadership and commitment to issues affecting women, families and marginalized communities. In a race that includes the only woman on the ballot, the endorsement underscores that Florida NOW evaluates candidates based on their priorities, experience and demonstrated commitment to equality.
Leone is a longtime Clearwater resident and active community leader. He serves as president of the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition, president of the Spring Branch Neighborhood Association and vice president of Keep Pinellas Beautiful. He served as chairman of the city’s Environmental Advisory Board for nearly a decade.
