CLEARWATER, Fla.
The Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition, which represents more than 20 neighborhood associations and more than 25,000 homeowners, endorses Jared Leone for city council.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition.
For years, this organization has brought neighborhood leaders together to advocate for safer streets, stronger communities, and a better quality of life for everyone who calls Clearwater home,” Leone said. “This endorsement means so much because it comes from people who know my work—not just my words. They’ve seen my commitment to listening, showing up, and finding solutions that put our neighborhoods first.”
Leone has spent more than a decade serving the community through volunteer leadership. He has served on the CNC executive board in multiple leadership roles including president, he is president of his neighborhood association, and led the city’s Environmental Advisory Board.
“Throughout his service, Jared has consistently demonstrated his commitment to protecting neighborhoods, encouraging civic engagement, and planning for Clearwater’s future,” the CNC said in a release. “As Clearwater faces important decisions—including the proposed elimination of the City’s homestead property tax this November and the budget challenges that could follow—we believe it is essential to have leaders who understand that strong neighborhoods are the foundation of a strong city and who will ensure neighborhood voices are heard.”
Leone is a longtime Clearwater resident and active community leader. He is vice president of Keep Pinellas Beautiful, president of the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition and president of the Spring Branch Neighborhood Association, where he secured a $1.5 million city investment in the expansion and renovation of State Street Park, 8 acres of greenspace. He’s also organized cleanups that led to more than 6,500 pounds of trash removed from the park and surrounding areas.
“As your City Councilmember, I’ll continue to be an independent voice focused on the issues that matter most: safe neighborhoods, smart growth, affordability, and preserving the quality of life that makes Clearwater such a special place to live,” Leone said. “Thank you to the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition for your trust and support. I’m grateful for this endorsement and ready to keep working for all of Clearwater.”
The Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition mission is for citizens to work together to promote quality of life, safety and sustainability throughout the city through public programs like community forums, public education events and initiatives. The CNC works closely with the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County to achieve its goals.
“It’s an organization I know well because I’ve had the privilege of serving as its president and working alongside some of the most dedicated volunteers in our city,” Leone said. “Together, we’ve helped neighborhoods organize, connected residents with city leaders, supported community cleanups, created neighborhood scholarships, and worked to ensure every voice has a seat at the table.”
